The Grape Variety

A grape variety that is not widespread in the region. It is considered to be a high quality grape and has the particularity of being of a teinturier variety. It produces musts that are naturally rich in sugars that give intense garnet red coloured wines. It has vinous aromas that bring out hints of wild red berries (mulberry and raspberry), and an equally vinous, full-bodied and slightly harsh flavour.

Morphology

It is a robust variety that produces a regular harvest and assimilates well with the majority of the grafts used in the region. This grape variety has a medium fertility with two blossoms on average per shoot. It provides medium sized and medium-compact bunches, thus making it a medium productive grape. It has a short cycle, being the last to bud in relation to the other reds, but then recovering with the flowering stage and being one of the first to ripen.
